Product Description

Kerax Gel Wax is a crystal-clear candle gel made from fully refined oils and polymers. It sets to a transparent, jelly-like finish, so it's the wax to use when you want people to see inside the candle: suspended embeds, layered colours or a glass-like look.

From UK stock in 5kg, 10kg and 20kg. Free UK delivery on orders over £100 ex VAT, and pallet pricing is available on request.

At a Glance

  • Appearance: clear solid at room temperature, liquid when heated
  • Melting range: heat to 110–125°C; don't exceed 125°C
  • Fragrance load: up to 6%, non-polar fragrances with a flash point above 77°C only
  • Best for: container candles with embeds, layered and novelty candles
  • Credentials: vegan, palm free, not tested on animals

How to Use

Melting
Gel needs much more heat than soy or paraffin. Heat to 110–125°C until fully clear and free of lumps, and never go above 125°C. Use a digital thermometer and never leave melting gel unattended.

Colour
Use dye chips or a little mica. Go sparingly: too much colour reduces clarity.

Fragrance
Up to 6%. Only use non-polar fragrances with a flash point above 77°C; other fragrances can cloud the gel or make it unsafe to burn.

Containers and embeds
Pour into heat-resistant glass. Embeds must be non-flammable (glass, ceramic, stones) and kept well away from the wick. Warming the glass first and pouring slowly reduces bubbles.

Testing
Test burn every combination of container, wick, fragrance and embeds before selling.

FAQs

Can I mix gel with soy or paraffin?
No. Gel and wax don't blend, though some makers use a solid wax layer under or around gel. Test carefully.

Can I get the technical documents?
Yes. The specification, SDS and product statements are available, and CoA, IFRA and allergen statements can be requested by email.

How it’s made

Refined

Extracted, then refined for a clean, neutral and consistent ingredient.

  1. ExtractedThe oil or fat is released from the raw material.
  2. RefinedIt is neutralised, bleached and deodorised.
  3. TestedEach batch is filtered and checked against specification.

What it means for you: Pale, low in odour and consistent from batch to batch, with a longer shelf life than unrefined grades.
