Essential oils sit at the heart of what The Ingredients Store does. With more than 40 years in natural ingredients, we supply over 170 essential oils, from high-volume staples such as lavender, peppermint and sweet orange to specialist oils such as helichrysum, blue tansy and palo santo. Buy the same oil from a 100ml sample through to a drum, with the documents your compliance team needs.
Wholesale sizes
Almost every oil is listed online in 500ml, 1kg and 5kg, many in 25kg, and our highest-volume oils, including peppermint (Mentha piperita), clary sage, petitgrain and rosemary camphor, in drums of 180kg to 200kg. Larger sizes of other oils are quoted on request. Oils are packed in aluminium flasks and jerry cans for the larger sizes.

Compliance documents as standard
Wholesale buyers need more than a good oil. For almost every essential oil we hold:
- an IFRA certificate with maximum use levels by product category;
- an EU allergen declaration listing the declarable fragrance allergens for your labels;
- a safety data sheet for CLP classification and labelling;
- a specification and supplier product statement;
- for many oils, a typical GC analysis of the main constituents.
A certificate of analysis can be supplied for the batch you receive. Every product page also gives the INCI name, botanical name, origin and extraction method, so your safety assessor has the details in one place. If you supply retailers or export, tell us which documents and formats they require and we will check what we can provide before you commit to an order.
Consistency at volume
Natural oils vary with harvest and origin. For brands that need the same scent every run, some of our oils, such as lavender 40/42, are blended to a consistent standard. For contracts, tell us your current specification and we will match it as closely as we can and talk you through any change of harvest or origin.
Food flavouring and other uses
Several oils, such as lemon, sweet orange, peppermint and spearmint, are documented as suitable for food flavouring under Regulation (EC) 1334/2008 per supplier product statements. Others are for cosmetic and fragrance use only. The status is on each product page. Kosher status is also listed per product, and shown as certified only where the supplier holds that certification.
Organic, conventional and speciality grades
About 50 of our essential oils are sold as organic and named so in the title, so you can choose organic for a natural or organic-positioned range and conventional where cost per kilo matters more. We also stock speciality grades that formulators ask for: furocoumarin-free bergamot FCF, five-fold orange for stronger citrus impact, rectified and chemotype-specific oils such as rosemary cineol and rosemary camphor, and floral absolutes for fine fragrance. If you cannot see the grade you need, ask; we can often source it.
