Meet the Makers - Dani, Wild Rising

Please introduce yourself, your business?

Hey wild ones, my name is Dani, the founder of natural and organic skincare brand, Wild Rising. Wild Rising is an independent business based in Torquay, Devon and our goal is simple, create incredible plant-powered skincare to make you feel fabulous in your skin.

Why the name, in your case Wild Rising Skincare?

'Wild' reflects the untamed beauty of nature, and 'Rising' symbolises the transformative journey towards healthier and radiant skin.

Our name is a celebration of the wild, vibrant energy within each of us, and our commitment to creating natural skincare that nourishes and empowers, bringing out the wild radiance within.

It's not just a name; it's a declaration of our passion for natural beauty, skincare innovation and empowerment for all.

What’s different about what you do at Wild Rising Skincare, what do you see as the USP?

1) The sustainable & display worthy packaging

In an incredibly saturated market we knew we had to stand out from the rest, and be different in order to be seen.

We claim to have made natural skincare sexy since 2020. Now let us explain why; when you think of natural skincare products, you may think of their packaging right? you would expect, green, plain and some would say, boring packaging.

At Wild Rising Skincare we deliver the exact opposite. Not only are our natural skincare products packaged in beautiful, sustainable glass bottles and jars. Each product has been coloured differently, using only the natural colourings of fruit and flowers.

Here are some examples:

Moonlight Face Oil has been coloured using Blue Tansy, an annual yellow-flowered Mediterranean plant found in northern Morocco.

Purify Clay Face Mask, when hydrated it will turn bright pink because of the hibiscus and rosehip formulation.

The ingredients

As our bodies’ largest organ is the skin, there certainly isn’t any place for harmful and nasty ingredients in the Wild Rising Skincare range. Therefore 99% of our products contain 100% active ingredients, which result in highly effective treatments for the skin and body.

We blend the best of nature and science to transform skin for the better. Our goal: for everyone to feel beautiful in their skin, so they can get on with their lives: we worry about their skin, so they don’t have to.

If that isn't good enough, we pride ourselves on our transparency and we list our full ingredients and publish all our reviews.

What was it that got you making, what was your inspiration?

Sadly I experienced a big loss, but before this devastation I began a mission to remove all synthetic fragrances and unnatural products from the household. This naturally led to me learning a lot about the good, and the not-so good ingredients.  I was so fed up with the offerings on the market, so I started making my own basic products with the help of Youtube.

This then gradually progressed into designing a logo and having the crazy idea to start to sell the products.

What is your studio space? What’s important to you?

Wild Rising HQ is at my home studio in Devon. I am currently manifesting a bigger studio and premises.

What’s the best thing about your job / business / being a maker?

The tiredness, the constant thinking and planning. Just joking, the best thing about being the maker is doing what I absolutely love. I love creating all my products and I love that my customers love them too.

What was the very first product you made (and sold)?

Ah this is an easy one. My first product was Bare. Bare is a fruit powder cleansing grain that, when activated with water, turns into a ultra-potent, creamy, enzyme rich paste. Bare is formulated with 100% natural ingredients such as strawberry, sea buckthorn and rosehip.

Which is your favourite product?

Can I have two?! First it has to be Naked, our powder-to-foam cleanser. Secondly, Moonlight our Blue Tansy smoothing serum.

If you didn’t Make, what would you be doing?

I’d be a yoga teacher. Just because, yoga is life!

Why do you buy from The Ingredients Store, and why?

Everything that I’ve purchased from The Ingredients Store has been such a high quality product. Every oil has been super vibrant in colour and beautifully smelling too, you can literally smell the quality! Amazing!

What’s your favourite Ingredients Store product?

Black Cumin Oil, simply because it's the best I have found on the market, The colour and scent is exactly what my newest product Tamed (Conditioning Hair Oil) needed.

Finally, if you could give other Makers any tips or advice, what would they be?

It all starts with a thought, write your thoughts down and keep doing it. Imposter syndrome is real and always will be. Ignore that and just be you!
